for Oceanside City Council Dear Friend, I will be a candidate for a city council seat in November, I know Oceanside and have served nine and a half years on the Planning Commission. Before that, I served on the Community Relations Commission, Tourism Commission and Senior Commission. My next step in service to our community is the City Council. Oceanside has made great strides this past decade. Ocean Ranch with Biogen-Idec, Moro Hills Community and El Corazon to name a few. Home values have increased, crime rate decreased, in general the quality of life increased. Lately, I am concerned that these trends seem to be reversing. Traffic is worsening with decisions to make it even worse. Our streets need repair. The growth of our infrastructure seems to be slowing or halting. Finally, Oceanside could face future deficits and even bankruptcy. My service on the council will strive to make Oceanside the gem of California's coast and an even better place to raise our children. But my candidacy comes with disadvantages for my family and friends as I will be faced with difficult tasks. The most difficult of these tasks is to ask for financial support.
