VISION FOR OCEANSIDE
If I am elected, after four years on the council, I hope to accomplish: • A council working as a team for the benefit of Oceanside and working as a team with neighboring cities to get our fair share of Transnet and other Federal and State funding. • “Oceanside Forward” program to bring businesses and jobs to Oceanside resultong in two new businesses like Genetetek relocated in Oceanside making Oceanside a “Bio-tech” capitol. • A council and mayor elected with 50% plus one of voters. • Fund the $18 million hotel parking with bonds from a “Vehicle Parking District” instead of homeowner property taxes facilities that allow free parking for residents • Form a ‘Business Improvement District” to provide funding instead of using property taxes to finance and enhance the downtown area and shift the cost from homeowner taxes to district bonds. • An elected City Counsel to mainly serve the citizens of Oceanside as a priority over the 3 individual council members it currently takes to hire and fire. • Hire 40 new policemen
